VENETOGO: PEDAL WITHOUT HURRY WITH COLBRELLI, CANCELLARA, CASSANI AND POZZATO

Two routes available, 80 and 98 kilometers, with the climbs of the Veneto Classic finale.

Cycling enthusiasts were the real protagonists of VENEtoGO, the social ride organized by PP Sport Events on the eve of Veneto Classic, with departure and arrival at Ca’ Cornaro in Romano d’Ezzelino (Vicenza). Those registered for the social ride had the opportunity to pedal together with the Italian and European champion and winner of the 2021 Paris-Roubaix Sonny Colbrelli and the “locomotive of Bern”, the great Fabian Cancellara, who has in his palmares a Milan-Sanremo, three Tours of Flanders and as many Paris-Roubaix, four world championships and two Olympics in the time trial.

Two routes available, 80 and 98 kilometers, with the climbs of the Veneto Classic finale. The departures were in groups. Music, food and enchanting landscapes were a constant feature of the ride. Apparently the two guest stars also enjoyed it, joined by the former coach of the Italian national team Davide Cassani and, of course, Filippo Pozzato.

“I thank Filippo for his invitation, these are areas where I always come very willingly – said Cancellara -. I also like the idea of ​​a small-scale social ride, where you can see the attention to detail, the participants are pampered, and you have the opportunity to talk a bit with everyone. Even if it is not a competition, I must say that the route is very interesting. I was especially curious to see Diesel Farm, a beautiful hill that I did not know and that in a race like Veneto Classic can be a crucial passage”.

“I really enjoyed it, I spent a beautiful morning among cycling enthusiasts, all smiling and without the stress of the competition – commented Colbrelli -. In these parts you are lucky, you have a territory that seems made especially for cycling. I have crossed it many times in the race, finally today I enjoyed it to the fullest in the company of nice people”

“I hope everyone had as much fun as I did – begins the organizer, Filippo Pozzato -. I want to thank Fabian, Sonny, Davide and all the people who shared this carefree morning on the bike with us. During this long week of cycling that we called Ride the Dreamland, preceded by the Gravel World Championships, the bike and speed are the undisputed protagonists. At VENEtoGO, however, the bike is a pretext, we wanted this non-competitive social ride precisely to overturn the perspective and start seeing the bike as a means of sharing, regardless of each person's ability and training. Colbrelli and Cancellara are living examples of how fast a human being can go on a bicycle, but here with us they were simply cycling enthusiasts like everyone else, with the same desire to be together, to see beautiful places, to laugh and joke, to forget for a while the tensions of daily life that we all carry with us. This is why VENEtoGO is much more than a parenthesis between this week's races, and this is why I would like it to become the emblem of an increasingly widespread way of using the bicycle".
