VENEtoGO, WHEN CYCLING RHYMES WITH FUN
Participants have two routes to choose from and a wide range of “gourmet” refreshments.
Departure and arrival in the splendid Villa Ca’ Cornaro in Romano d’Ezzelino.
“Don’t race, have fun” is the motto that defines the spirit of VENEtoGO, the non-competitive social ride created by Filippo Pozzato to allow those who cycle in their free time to experience the atmosphere of Ride the Dreamland as protagonists. The cycling week in the Veneto organized by PP Sport Events will give space to amateur cyclists and their desire to have fun on their bikes on Saturday 15 October 2022, the day before Veneto Classic. Participants will have the opportunity to ride a good part of the route of the professional race, worrying only about enjoying the landscape, the inviting refreshments and the company of former professionals who will pedal with them through the picturesque views of the Veneto foothills.
The start and finish will be in Romano d’Ezzelino, just outside Bassano del Grappa. The headquarters for the second edition of VENEtoGo will be the enchanting Ca’ Cornaro, one of the pearls of Venetian architecture. The first part of the structure, dating back to the 16th century, was completed between the 16th and 18th centuries. The Cornaro family spent their holidays here, as did Caterina, Queen of Cyprus and Lady of Asolo. Ca’ Cornaro is characterised by its vast park with centuries-old trees.
There are two routes, 98 and 80 kilometres long. In both cases, the first part of the social ride will take place in the Treviso area. The long route will pass through Fonte Alto, Pagnano, Monfumo, Castelcucco and Paderno and Crespano (Pieve del Grappa). The shorter route will reverse course at Borso del Grappa. The race will continue along the Grappa foothills, returning to the province of Vicenza at Romano d’Ezzelino towards Bassano del Grappa and Colceresa. It is here that the feared Tisa will await the cyclists, the now famous “wall” with a cobblestone surface that is so reminiscent of the roads of the Northern classics. After crossing the Venetian valley, the race will go over the hill in Tibalda and climb to Molvena, before tackling the inevitable Rosina. A few kilometers on the plain and then an unused dirt road will lead the riders through the Diesel Farm estate.
All registered participants will be given a premium race kit including a Santini racing jersey, Weider nutritional supplement products and an Elite water bottle with dedicated graphics. A welcome banquet will be set up at the start. The first of the refreshment points along the route will be located after 25 kilometers, with coffee, tart, fruit and drinks. The next one will be at kilometer 65 and will provide participants with bread, pizza, cold cuts and beer. The gastronomic offer expands at the third refreshment point (kilometer 90) at Diesel Farm: a food truck will prepare hamburgers accompanied by Diesel Farm wine. A music station will also be set up by a DJ. More music and entertainment at the arrival at Ca’ Cornaro, where a gourmet lunch of fried fish will await the cyclists, a worthy end to a day dedicated to sport, socializing and fun.
VENEtoGo is organized by PP Sport Events with the collaboration of: Municipality of Romano d’Ezzelino, Campagnolo, Weider, Sidi, Elite, Santini, Città della Speranza, Diesel Farm.
